Staff pick "The team's experience really shows in our own brand tent. Great design and quality. The aluminium poles are light and strong - much sturdier than other tents at this price."
Please note: As we reach the end of our stock, the tent bag may be lightly soiled, but the tent is new.
Here at OutdoorGear, we are so excited to bring to you, our very own, lightweight and compact Backpacker Pro 2 Tent!
Weighing in at just 1.77kg, with a compact pack size and a generous sized breathable inner, this two man tent offers an excellent and affordable choice for your next summer backpacking adventure!
This lightweight backpacking tent is a quick and easy inner pitch first design. The inner tent has a single pole to give an excellent amount of space to sit up when you are inside the tent and there is plenty of mesh panels to reduce condensation.
The flysheet is a lightweight polyester material with a waterproof PU coating and taped seams, the way the flysheet goes over the inner and pegs out maximises porch space - ideal for storing your muddy boots and gear!
We have chosen all the detailing on these backpacking tents ourselves to keep pack weight to a minimum, this has included the use of a lightweight aluminium pole, alloy pegs and lightweight reflective guylines with cleats! However, we always knew that we needed to have an oversized compression bag, to make it super quick and easy to pack up your tent when it is time to head off!
This is a fantastic lightweight and compact two man tent that offers an excellent level of comfort and value for money making it perfect for taking on your next summer adventure!
Staff Tip: We found the quickest way to pitch this tent was to first pitch the inner then to put the flysheet over the top and line up the seam that runs horizontally with the pole, peg these two points in first then peg out the rest of the fly!

Backpacker Pro 2
I received the package very quickly. It was thinly wrapped, but the weight of the package on the receipt was 1.93kg; quite a bit more than the advertised 1.77kg. The slim form factor meant it could easily fit in a small backpack. It was purchased as a replacement for an oex Phoxx 1, since the inability to sit up was driving me round the bend and it seemed worth the weight penalty. I headed out to some local woods, reaching after sunset and discovered that I had a duff headlamp bulb. Despite this, I did manage to pitch it in about 15 minutes, just before it started to rain and snow incessantly for the next 16 hours. Being able to sit up, albeit slightly stooped, was a huge improvement on my previous tent. It remained waterproof, though there was some condensation - enough to dampen my sleeping bag slightly, which didn't stop me sleeping soundly. When it came time to strike camp, during a short break in the rain, the ability to quickly crudely roll up an toss the inner and fly into the stuff sack and still easily close the side release buckles, and make it to a bus shelter just as the rain restarted with a vengeance was very much appreciated. Next, aiming to go ultralight without ending up in the poorhouse, I'm going to try to pitch it fly only, using the poncho which I always carry as a groundsheet, and get some cheapo tarp from a hardware chain to make an awning I can cook in. All in all, it's great value for the price. I'd give it five stars if not for the weight discrepancy.

Backpacker pro 2 tent
Just got back from a few days hiking the south west coast path. Both myself and my friend bought this tent and we were so impressed with it. It’s lightweight, easy to set up, take down and put back in the bag and so well thought out in every detail. The first night of our trip there was the most almighty thunderstorm with lashing rain and high winds. This tent kept us safe and dry, not a drop of water got in the tent. I would highly recommend this fantastic, brilliantly priced tent!
